Global Innovation Tour with Interactive EY Robots

Ogilvy, in their role as lead agency for EY, had an ambitious strategic brief to propel EY’s reputation as a leader in technology. A range of exciting concepts were on the table and Robots as an interactive DOOH experience was the favourite.

In our role as Creative Tech partner for Ogilvy and EY, we were the lynchpin to delivering the installation, both from a creative and development perspective, as well as managing the rollout of the experience to mulitple locations and events around the world over an 18 month period.

The seed of an idea from Ogilvy, turned into weeks of collaboration, where our character robot was designed from scratch and the development process began. Using Unreal Engine, IR sensors and large 4K screens, we created a multi-person interactive experience that told the story of EY's approach to innovation and their forward thinking culture.

The Robot Wall visited events in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, from long term airport installations to pop ups at corporate events. It resonated with audiences in public arenas, such as Amsterdam Schipol Airport, to CEO focussed events such as the World Economic Forum in Davos.


Our strategy of creating an event toolkit for the experience allowed EY marketing teams, from around the world, quickly plan and procure the Robot Wall for their event. Our teams worked with local hardware suppliers, made creative updates to the app, and managed all the logostics for a successful event.

During the 18 month campaign, the Robot Wall visited 20 locations around the world and through our custom analytics solution within the app we tracked some impressive numbers:

- 1,664,903 people engaged with the interactive experience
- 582,814 meaningful engagements of over 5 seconds.
- Of those 582,814 interactions, average dwell time in airports was 37 seconds, and at events was 15 seconds.
