Overview

TELUS Garden is $750 million mixed commercial/residential project in the heart of Vancouver being developed by Westbank. Intergalactic was commissioned to create a commercial, website, and interactive content to showcase the project.

The filmed portion of the video was shot on a RED Epic camera over two days on location in Vancouver and in a green screen studio. The in-house CG team created the 3D content for the commercial along with an extensive amount of additional renderings and web animations over 5 months. Additional compositing, keying, and roto work was completed by Faction Creative. Giant Ant Media assisted throughout the project with casting, crew, equipment hire, the online edit, and musical score.

The agency also created the TELUS Garden website to reflect the tech-forward nature of the development. Leveraging the footage and additional content from the CG team, www.telusgarden.com allows users to explore the project and neighbourhood regardless of browser as multiple versions of the website were built using both Flash and mobile-friendly HTML. The Flash version of the site features full screen animated CG backgrounds.

The agency also built multiple iterations of the Intervista system in the presentation centre to browse floorplans, pan through 360 degree views and explore rich media content. The room is complimented by a 20-screen video wall that plays the TELUS Garden commercial.
